Captain America 4th Birthday Party

If you don't know this about me, I have two boys who are 15 months apart.  My oldest sons birthday is December 2nd.  If you don't recall reading that my sister got married January 4, 2014 so from pretty much since Thanksgiving I haven't had much time to blog.  I am catching up on things I wanted to but just never did with everything else going on.  And this is one of those blogs.

So my son turned 4 in December and it was the first time we had a party to invite some of his school friends.  He chose to do a Captain America themed bowling party.  I was pretty excited cause I love planning and making invites, favors, decor, etc. and knew Captain America would be an easy one to work with.
The birthday boy!
I started with the invitations that were so simple to customize using My Digital Studio.  If you do any sort of scrapbooking, card making, invitations, etc then you should own this program.  You can fully customize whatever you are creating within this program.  (Sorry just went sales mode on you) Check out the program at http://mydigitalstudio.net or contacting me to learn more.  Ok, moving on.  Here's the invitation postcard I created.

Next, I created shirts using My Digital Studio and iron on sheets.  I just created Captain America's shield with circles then printed it how the iron-on sheets told me to.  Here were the finished projects.

I did blue inspired cupcakes with white icing and red sprinkles.  Something simple but the cupcakes turned out great.

The favors were a blue bag I created Captain's shield using the circle framelits and a non Stampin' Up! heart punch (shh don't tell anyone because I rarely do this) and a thank you stamp from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  We filled it with candy and Avenger's items we found at the dollar store.

The table was decorated with printed Captain America standing dolls and masks the kids could wear.  We brought the shield he had from his Halloween costume that became a big hit for the kids.  Here's what the table with the kids looked like.

And finally the thank you cards were simple easy with the Circle Framelits to make a shield like I used throughout the party.

I really did enjoy planning this party for my son and look forward to future birthday's to see what we can come up with!

Dance Teacher Gift Card Holder

My son has been doing an all boys dance class since November.  They do tap, jazz and tumbling.  He really has enjoyed it and his teacher is wonderful with 8 boys ages 3-6!  His recital was Saturday so I wanted to make her something she could use in the future and what dance teacher doesn't need music so this holds an iTunes gift card.  The best thing is it's made with an envelope, how clever.  Wish I could say this was an original idea but found a video on Pinterest here.

I created the "record" circle on My Digital Studio then designed the rest from that.  You can order any/all of these supplies by clicking on the picture that will take you directly to my online store. (http://brittnysmith.stampinup.net - SHOP NOW)

Graduation Cap Gift Card Holder

Graduation is right around the corner for high schools.  I have been invited to two of the girls parties that I coached volleyball this past season.  I would love to attend but won't be able to on the days they are having their parties.  I wanted to find something that I could send that holds a gift card.  Where else to go but Pinterest to find some inspiration.  I found this pin from Brenda Quintana who did an awesome picture tutorial on how to make this cap gift card holder.  I also watched Jackie Topa's video on how to make a tassel that is super easy.  I matched the colors to the high school that are black, white and red and made this adorable graduation cap gift card holder to send in the mail!

I will be using the bottom portion to write my note to the girls.

Mommy to Be Punch Art Card

My sister-in-law is pregnant with their first child and I've been wanting to send her a card since she lives in Florida and I couldn't attend her baby shower.  I saw this punch art first on Pinterest from Bonnie's Creative Place who has a great FREE picture tutorial on her blog  here.  I changed it slightly with most of the cards I CASE (copy and share everything) because the purse is made with a retired punch and I'm not much of a hat person so I went without it.  Except in this card I did the hat and thought how cute it was.

I created both soft sky and blushing bride outfits to fit someone having a boy or girl.  Here's the girl card without the hat.

These cards also feature two new punches that will be releasing in the new catalog starting June 2nd!  It's a 3 pack with that adorable flower in her hair, the shoes are made with a small heart punch and a small star come in that 3 pack of punches.  Definitely love these already to add to my punches for punch art!

Here's a picture of my card stock punched and I like to show you the back so you can see how it glues all together.

If you want to know the supplies and how I made this you can click on the Print Recipe link below.
